Don't Shoot The Messenger
You know, I actually feel bad for debt collectors. They are considered the bad guys when they are only doing their job. Of course, I don't like to see that unidentified number, which could not belong to anyone else, but I know what it feels like to be on the other side of the line. I actually had a job in college, in which I called alumni to ask them to donate back to the school or departments from which they received their respective degree. It was somewhat awkward initially because I hate to pester people, yet I knew it had to be done. Those departments counted on those donations/investments from its alumni--the people they invested in--to provide resources for those who proceeded. I say this not with the expectation that anyone would be overjoyed with the unidentified number on the caller id, but rather as a reminder that, although it may not be apparent, it is often stressful for those individuals as well. I know this will not be the most popular blog entry, but I write about what is relevant in my own life at the current time...just a thought.
